Introducing Frontend Mind (and a quick life update)

Hey friends,

It’s been a while — almost two years in fact — since my last newsletter. Life got busy: work stepped up, family life needed more of me, and I also spent time making more music. Something had to pause, and the newsletter ended up being it.

But I’ve missed writing, and it feels good to be back, with a fresh new name.

Say hello to “Frontend Mind”

I’ve rebranded the newsletter from “From the desk of Ajay Karwal” to “Frontend Mind.” The new name fits the kind of topics I naturally gravitate towards — mindset, soft skills, creative thinking, and the human side of building things.

What do you think of the new name? Hit reply and give me your thoughts.

Expect more content in the new year but for now, thanks for sticking around during the quiet spell.

Catch up soon,

Ajay

Take a second step. And a somewhat related quote to think about: "If you do not change direction, you...

Matthew was the guest speaker at our company’s annual kickoff meeting where we were looking back on the successes and failures of 2023 and laid out the plans for the year ahead. During his talk, Matthew spoke about the differences of a fixed mindset vs a growth mindset, innovation, echo chambers, and a little about table tennis 🏓. — A...

Before we get started... You may have noticed that I’ve been a bit quiet on the newsletter for the past couple of weeks. Sometimes life gets in the way and priorities need to be shifted around but hopefully I’ll return to a more regular schedule going forward. I might just switch the newsletter from being ‘weekly’ to a more irregular schedule. — This week I’d like to talk about forming habits, and the 7 steps you can take to make them last. I first came across this idea on an old episode of...
